Apostle J. Timothy Herrington, a native of Sardis, Georgia, was birthed in the Apostolic Church to late Deacon McKinley and late Mother Beatrice Herrington in February 1950.  Realizing the value of education, Apostle Herrington was very studious in school and graduated from R.E. Blakeney High School in 1968.  Following high school, he was the first of his family to complete a collegiate degree earning a Bachelor’s of Arts degree with an emphasis in Business Administration from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia in 1975.  Apostle Herrington has also received certificates and degrees in theology and religious studies from Logos Christian College, True Holiness Bible Institute, and Arkansas State University.  In addition, Apostle Herrington also holds certification and licensure as a real estate mogul and an automobile dealer.

 Being reared in holiness, Apostle Herrington formally accepted his call to the ministry in 1975 and has been preaching nearly 40 years.  Since the inception of his ministry, God has gifted and anointed him to propagate the gospel in a very unique style offering messages of hope to the destitute, healing to the battered, and peace to the broken-hearted all to the edifying of the total man.

 In 1978, God instructed Apostle Herrington to transition from his surroundings because had been assigned to a greater work.  Leaving his family behind, Apostle Herrington, his wife and young son moved to Grenada, Mississippi and started what was then a very humble ministry.  The Abundant Life Assembly Church of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. was literally birthed out of his heart and was the first apostolic church to grace the city of Grenada.  Since the church’s inception in 1982 and it’s humble beginning, the church has experienced tremendous growth and now Apostle Herrington serves as Senior Pastor of this assembly and Presiding Bishop and Chief Apostle of the Abundant Life Assembly Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. (ALCAF) which has churches throughout the southeastern continental United States. 

With an impressive educational resume and working vitae, Apostle Herrington has over 40 years of experience in business management and entrepreneurship.  In 1979 to 1986, Herrington worked for Binswanger as Production Manager and later Assistant Personnel Manager.  He is currently founder and president of Abundant Life Day Care Center.  In addition, he is also CEO of Abundant Life Transportation which is a corporation that aids FEMA and AMR in the evacuation of evacuees during disaster relief across the continental United States.  This company also partners with LogistiCare which provides transportation to its participants who seek medical care.  Apostle Herrington is also CEO Herrington Enterprise, LLC which owns and operates approximately 50 housing units and real estate properties providing one of the largest arrays of housing throughout Grenada County Mississippi.

 Apostle Herrington is known for his competent wisdom and serves in numerous religious and civic organizations.  He currently serves as Presiding Bishop and Chief Apostle of Abundant Life Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. (ALCAF); Director and Vice President of the General Board of the Alliance of Apostolic Churches of Christ Jesus (AACCJ); Grenada Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance; Grenada Chamber of Commerce; Grenada’s Chapter of 100 Black Men of America; and Grenada’s Chapter of the Rotary Club. 

Apostle Herrington is married to the former Lucy Ann Lewis of Sylvania, Georgia for over 39 years of marriage.  Together, they have three adult children Sheldon (Tina), Natalie (Carlos), and Reginald (Armintie).  They are the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren.
